Press freedom in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) appears to have improved since Joseph Kabila took over the country's reins from his father this year, reports Journaliste en danger (JED).
The organisation released its 2001 annual report on the occasion of International Human Rights Day, which took place on 10 December. It is the fourth year that JED has launched its annual review of press freedom conditions in the country.
