World Press Freedom Day Exhibit

For World Press Freedom Day 2021, we were excited to partner with the International Free Expression Project to exhibit a selection of our Faces of Free Expression illustrations outside the former Pittsburgh Post-Gazette building in downtown Pittsburgh. Check out the drone video and photos!

These are individuals who put their careers, freedom, and safety on the line to defend the right to freedom of expression and access to information – part of a broad and diverse global community of people doing this essential work.

Below, you can find remarks from IFEX Executive Director Annie Game for the launch of the exhibit. Don't forget to also check out our special edition of our podcast Africa Brief featuring Tabani Moyo (MISA Zimbabwe), Zoe Titus (Namibia Media Trust) and our Africa Editor Reyhana Masters, marking 30 years since the landmark Windhoek Declaration for a Free, Independent, and Pluralistic Press.
