On 1 June 2014, Firas Al-Saffar, a 15-year-old student, was abducted from his home early in the morning, before going to school, by members of the security forces in civilian clothing.

On Friday, 9 May 2014, several Bahraini individuals received summons to visit the Investigation Department’s office. Those summoned have all lost family members due to the Bahraini security forces’ use of excessibe force when suppressing peaceful demonstrations.

Concern for Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja’s health on third anniversary of his arrest in Bahrain
Former president and co-founder of the Bahrain Centre for Human Rights (BCHR) Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja was sentenced to life in prison in June 2011. He continues to be denied adequate medical attention and suffers from severe medical complications as a result of his mistreatment in detention.

The Grand Prix race in Bahrain kicked off at 6 pm on 6 April 2014. Bahraini protesters have been rallying against the race for a few months preceding the event but to no avail.
