Repression of Expression: Report on the state of free speech in Cambodia

Civilian shot dead by Cambodian military police while protesters clash with security forces

Unrest broke out in Phnom Penh as tensions rose during the mass demonstration organised by the opposition; smoke bombs, tear gas and high-pressure water cannons were used by security forces in an attempt to disperse protesters and one civilian was shot dead.
