Lilanath Ghimire was assaulted while reporting on the alleged involvement of a senior superintendent of police in “suspicious activities” at a restaurant.

The staffer threatened journalist Agandhar Tiwari, saying that he could do anything if a news report about the x-ray department was made public.

Pramod Gupta issued the threat after the media reported that he had secretly met with leaders of the Unified Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist.
