The members of the press who were attacked are Rafael Poveda, a journalist with Caracol TV; Oscar Obregoso, a cameraman for television channel Caracol; Germán Espejo, satellite engineer for channel Caracol; John Ripe and Mauricio Anzola, assistants to the satellite connection department for channel Caracol; Andrés Gil, a journalist with RCN TV; Fernando Giraldo, a cameraman with RCN TV; and Harold Joya, a soundperson for RCN TV.
Despite the fact that the group showed press materials and a white flag, they were shot at throughout two parts of their journey. No one was wounded.
