(IFJ/IFEX) – According to information provided by “Prensa Libre”, on Wednesday 7 June 2000, Ricardo Mosquera, a cameraman for the Municipality of Cali, was attacked by Gustavo Carvajal, assistant manager of the Coomepal public transport company. The incident occurred while the trasport vehicles’ cash registers were being dismantled.
Mosquera works as a cameraman for the municipality press office. Carvajal intentionally ran over Mosquera with his car, apparently because Carvajal was opposed to the municipality’s initiative to dismantle the cash registers. The journalist was taken to a clinic and kept there for a number of hours before being discharged.
