The "Contravia" website was attacked with malicious code which was aimed at linking the site to pages associated with spam.
(FLIP/IFEX) – Journalist Hollman Morris, director of the “Contravía” programme, was notified by the administrator of the TV programme’s website that the site was the target of hacking attempts. The attacks on the site took place on 14 February and 26 April 2010. Morris has said that these attacks may be related to other incidents of illegal monitoring and wiretapping he has experienced.
Morris told FLIP that the administrator of http://www.contravia.tv gave him a technical report that explained how the site had been attacked with a malicious code. It seems the code was intended to link the “Contravia” website to pages associated with spam. This could have led to the website being blocked by search engines.
Investigations by the National Attorney General’s Office have revealed that since 2004, Morris has been the target of illegal surveillance and wiretapping by the DAS (Departamento Administrativo de Seguridad).
