“Soho” magazine faces legal action
On 26 July 2006, the public hearing in the case of the magazine “Soho”, during which the judge was to decide whether or not to initiate legal proceedings against the magazine’s director and other collaborators of the publication, was postponed.
The case began in 2005, after the magazine published photographs of a topless female model and various public figures in recreations of the last supper and the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The photographs were accompanied by an article by the renowned Colombian writer, Fernando Vallejo. Various individuals and a lay movement sought to press charges against everyone involved for insult, defamation and “injuries or insults to persons or things that are the object of worship.”
