David and Alejandro Páramo González, 21 and 23, sons of journalists David Páramo and Martha González, were killed on the morning of 4 May 2013 in the capital of Chihuahua state.
The incident took place in Colinas del Sol, when armed suspects overtook the car that the brothers were travelling in and later killed them.
The parents of the brothers are David Páramo, a financial contributor for Grupo Imagen, Televisión Azteca and Radio Formula, and Martha González, an editor of El Peso newspaper, specialising in reports on police.
According to media reports, the Chihuahua Attorney General is saying that the murders had nothing to do with the professional work of the victims’ parents. This statement was presented without evidence and was based on unofficial statements made to the press.
