RSF reintegrates ETA into its list of “press freedom predators”
After consulting with its Spanish offices and journalists, Reporters without Borders has decided to reintegrate the Basque terrorist organization ETA into its list of press freedom predators, released to the public on 3 May 2006.
ETA was included in the list of press freedom predators in 2001, following numerous attacks committed against journalists and media outlets. Many media professionals in Spain still employ armed security for protection, following threats they received from the Basque organisation.
