(C-Libre/IFEX) – 13 October 2009 – Eight days after de facto president Roberto Micheletti announced the lifting of a 26 September 2009 decree suspending constitutional guarantees, the decision still has not been sent to the National Graphic Arts Company (Empresa Nacional de Artes Gráficas, ENAG) for publication in the official gazette.
Nelson Mendoz, an ENAG assistant manager, told C-Libre that, contrary to what some media outlets have been reporting, there are no problems with the ENAG’s equipment. He said that the decree has not been published because the Government House has not sent it to the ENAG for publication.
Meanwhile, the de facto government immediately forwarded to the ENAG another decree, approved on 5 October, which ordered the National Telecommunications Commission to begin canceling broadcasting licences and permits, with the objective of hindering the Radio Globo, Cholusat Sur and Radio La Catracha media outlets from resuming operations.
