Liberia is the first West African country to have a freedom of information law.
(CEMESP/IFEX) – President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has signed a Liberian Freedom of Information (FOI) Bill into law.
Presidential Press Secretary Cyrus Badio told a news conference on 4 October 2010 that the president has fowarded the signed FOI law to the Ministry of Foreign Affiars of Liberia to be printed on a hand bill.
The signing of the FOI law by President Sirleaf now makes Liberia the first West African country with an FOI law.
