The In Profile Daily Newspaper has been subjected to intimidation from the Acting Mayor of Monrovia City Corporation, The Center for Media Studies and Peacebuilding (CEMESP) has been informed.
Madam Mary Broh is said to have stormed the newspaper office with eleven security guards to apparently register displeasure over an article published by the newspaper.The article suggested that the Mayor has converted the city hall into an entertainment center, without registering it with appropriate agencies.
Following the publication of July 14th 2012, Madam Broh breezed into the newspaper office with her security guards, disregarding protocol of been ushered in the office of the Publisher. The security guards barred other journalists from entering the Publisher’s office whilst they stood. When their presence became somewhat alarming, Mary Broh and guards departed without uttering a word as to the motive of their visit.
This action has been seen as psychological threat to journalists in Liberia.
