(AJI/IFEX) – The following is a correction by the Southeast Asian Press Alliance (SEAPA), of which AJI is a member, and the IFEX Clearing House:
The Southeast Asian Press Alliance (SEAPA) Jakarta and the IFEX Clearing House would like to apologise for a misunderstanding on a recent alert, which the IFEX Clearing House titled: Anti-communist alliance threatens to “sweep up” leftist books.
The second last paragraph in the alert includes the following excerpt:
“SEAPA states that ideology has caused bloody events in Indonesian history and that it continues to taint youth⦔
This statement was in fact issued by the Anti-Communist Alliance (AAK) and does not reflect SEAPA’s view.
SEAPA and the IFEX Clearing House apologise for the inaccuracy.
