Canadian Journalists for Free Expression have put together a timeline of events related to the murder of a prominent investigative journalist was killed in her elevator in 2006.
(CJFE/IFEX) – Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya faced numerous threats and attacks over the course of her career. After death threats, negotiating a hostage situation, surviving an alleged poisoning, and being held captive, she was murdered in her elevator on October 7, 2006.
November 23 marks the International Day to End Impunity, a campaign demanding justice for those who have been targeted for exercising their right to free expression.
