(RSF/IFEX) – On 10 December 1997, at around 9:15 am, three unidentified
masked individuals armed with baseball bats, crow bars and clubs made their
way into the offices of the Madrid daily “Diario de Alcala” and proceeded to
vandalise everything inside. The individuals attacked the receptionist and
employees of the business section of the newspaper; three people were
wounded slightly. The attack caused significant material damage.
The attack is thought to be connected to recent reports in “Diario de
Alcala” about either the mafia, immigrant exploitation networks or other
sensitive subject matter.
Recommended Action

behind the attack and to apprehend those responsible
