While the previous suspension was lifted, RCTK's director and journalists were warned to "respect the measures in place, or risk a definitive closure."
(JED/IFEX) – 23 January 2012 – Radio Communautaire Tujenge Kabambare (RCTK) is back on air after having been suspended for three months on the orders of territorial administrator Isaac-Ernest Miyambo.
According to information obtained by JED, the previous orders to suspend the radio station for an indefinite period of time were reversed by provincial governor Pascal Tutu Salumu on the basis of “clemency.” Salumu told Miyambo to warn the radio station’s director and journalists to “respect the measures in place, or risk a definitive closure.”
