(CMFR/IFEX) – A local court has ordered the arrest of two suspects in connection with the 3 July 2005 murder of radio commentator Rolando Morales in General Santos City.
In a 28 October resolution, Judge Eddie Rojas of the General Santos regional trial court ordered the immediate arrest of suspects Federico Saripa Jr. and Sanny Dimol for the murder of Morales.
CMFR found out, however, that only Morales’s family got a copy of the arrest warrant. The local police and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said they have not received it, but vowed to enforce it as soon as they obtain a copy.
A series of investigations and raids, coupled with identification by the witnesses, aided the police in identifying the two suspects.
Morales, a commentator for the Radyo Agong station and a part-time anti-crime volunteer, was shot by at least six gunmen on his way home after finishing his regular Sunday programme.
