At least 432 people, including five journalists, have lost their lives in the crackdown on protests.
For five days, the government imposed an internet blackout spurring misinformation and questions about the situation on the ground.
Authorities ordered the indefinite closure of all universities, and there are reports of internet and cellular shutdowns being imposed across the country.
