After more than 18 months smearing pro-Palestinian voices, Germany’s conservative parties want to revoke citizenship from dual citizens if they are deemed “supporters of terrorism, antisemites and extremists”.
Of those surveyed for the study, one third were facing claims of between €100,000 and €500,000. One in five journalists who have faced SLAPPs said they would avoid covering similar topics in their future articles.
Titled ‘Political neutrality of state-supported organisations’, the inquiry targets some of the most prominent organisations working in democracy, advocacy, environmental justice, animal rights, and non-profit journalism.
