HKJA Condemns the Killings of Journalists in Yugoslavia
The Hong Kong Journalists Association condemns the killing of three Chinese
journalists at NATO’s bombing of the People’s Republic of China’s embassy
in Yugoslavia.
The HKJA will write to consulates of NATO’s members in Hong Kong to ask for
NATO’s promise to protect journalists there.
When NATO attacked the Serbian state television in late April, the HKJA has
signed a protest letter to NATO along with more than 20 press freedom
organizations worldwide (see http://www.ifj.org/pr/89.html) (see IFEX alert
of 29 April 1999).
