IFEX is committed to providing a respectful, accessible, and inclusive environment for all of our employees and stakeholders. Our goal is to meet the standards outlined in Ontario’s Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act 2005 (AODA) and to break down barriers to goods, services and employment opportunities provided by IFEX.
IFEX is committed to providing and maintaining a workplace which ensures that everyone who works at IFEX, including every Council member, staff person, consultant and volunteer within IFEX is treated with dignity and respect and is able to work in an environment free from harassment.
IFEX is proud of its reputation as an organisation with the highest standards of honesty. The integrity of IFEX depends on ethical behaviour throughout the organization, and in particular, on fair, well-informed decision-making. The ability to make a decision is sometimes affected by other interests (personal or professional) of individuals in the organization. The objective of this policy is to enable IFEX to manage conflict of interest situations successfully and to resolve them fairly.
The IFEX network of organisations is connected around the globe by a shared commitment to defend and promote freedom of expression as a fundamental human right. As part of this commitment, IFEX regularly convenes spaces for members, specialists, staff and other allies to come together to explore complex – and sometimes contested – topics. These convenings are by invitation only via IFEX and generally not open to the public. This policy sets out our Code of Conduct for such convenings.
IFEX is committed to the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct in all its activities. Our reputation for honesty and integrity among our stakeholders and employees is key to the success of our organisation. This Confidential Reporting policy provides guidance so that anyone working for IFEX can raise concerns regarding questionable business practices without fear of discrimination, retaliation or harassment.
