(RSF/IFEX) – RSF is protesting the arrest of a journalist in Yaoundé.
According to RSF’s information, on 12 November 1998, Chrisopher Ezieh,
correspondant with “The Herald”, an English language newspaper published
three times a week, was arrested and detained at the police station in
Kumba. This arrest follows the 11 November publication in “The Herald” of an
ariticle in which the journalist explained that Peter Acham, Governor of the
south-west province, had ordered a sixty percent salary reduction for Kumba
City Hall employees.
