Attacked journalist dies, buried
Ugandan journalist David Matovu, formerly working with Radio Uganda, died yesterday (December 21 2001) at Mulago Hospital, where he had been admitted after unknown attackers doused him with petrol and set him ablaze on the night of Wednesday December 19 2001.
Matovu, aged 46, was attacked by unidentified people as he returned home after visiting a friend. He was known for his live soccer commentary on Radio Uganda. The police are said to be investigating the cause of this tragedy.
