(IPYS/IFEX) – Journalist Cecilia Valenzuela, host of the programme “Here and
Now”, which is broadcast nightly at 11:00 p.m. (local time) on Andina de
Television (ATV), told IPYS that on 26 May she received an anonymous call on
her cellular phone, during which the caller insulted her and told her she
would be killed. “Since 1994, the threats against me have not been so
direct; the other threats were limited to insulting me”, said Valenzuela,
whose programme includes debates and accusations and considers views opposed
to the government of President Alberto Fujimori.
