(RSF/IFEX) – According to reports, on 2 April 1998, Daniele Genco of the
ANSA press agency, Fabrizzio Ravelli of “La Repubblica”, Jenner Meletti of
“L’Unita”, Pablo Griseri of “Il Manifesto”, and Claudio Papi, a Reuters
photographer, were violently attacked by a dozen or so supporters of Edoardo
Massari, an anarchist leader, while covering Massari’s funeral near Turin.
Genco, who was hospitalized, suffered a fractured vertebrae and numerous
internal injuries as a result of the attack.
