(RSF/IFEX) – RSF wrote to Malaysia’s Internal Security Ministry on 15 July 2005 saying its decision to maintain an import ban on all copies of the “Epoch Times” newspaper on diplomatic grounds was a serious press freedom violation.
The Internal Security Ministry said on 7 July it would continue to block all copies of the “Epoch Times” at customs in Kuala Lumpur because the seized issues contained articles openly denigrating the Chinese government, adding that it was necessary to safeguard relations between Malaysia and China.
