(JED/IFEX) – RAGA TV, a station belonging to the Kinshasa-based, privately-owned RAGA media group, began broadcasting again on 11 July 2005 following a 10 day-suspension. The order had been handed down by the national media regulator (Haute Autorité des Médias, HAM). RAGA Plus station was also authorised to resume broadcasting at the same time.
Shortly before the suspension order was lifted, HAM President Modeste Mutinga paid a personal visit to the RAGA Group headquarters to deliver a message to RAGA employees, asking them to respect professional and ethical codes of conduct in their work.
A RAGA TV manager contacted by JED said no other condition had been imposed for the lifting of the suspension order.
