(RSF/IFEX) – According to RSF, on 19 March 1998, the daily newspaper
“Al-Zahf al-Akhdar” was banned indefinitely. The decision was made because
of “articles attacking fraternal Arab states and friendly countries.”
“Al-Zahf al-Akhdar” is also accused of “deviation from the revolutionary
orientation which governs the media.” All the staff of the newspaper were
suspended at the same time, without any explanation.
