According to IFJ’s information, “Le Republicain”, “Tribune du Peuple”, “La
Bonne Affaire”, “Le Citoyen”, “Sahel Horizon” and “Sankore” have been
threatened with closure by the Conseil Superieur de la Communication as have
Anafani and RM radio stations.

Recommended Action
Send appeals to the President of the Republic:
auspices of Law no. 97-026 are attacks on freedom of expression
they have refused to be silenced and have exercised their right to free
speech
on freedom of expression imposed by Law no. 97-026
ensures that the media cannot freely exercise their profession in Niger.
