According to RSF’s information, on 3 January 2000, Wiesat, a Palestinian photographer who works for the Israeli press agency Zoom 77, was struck and his camera was broken by plain clothes Israeli intelligence agents. The photographer was taking pictures of the arrest of a Palestinian by the police close to the Damascus Gate. The journalist was taken to the Hadasa hospital after the attack, where he received emergency care. He was put under observation until 5 January.
