The broadcast regulator suspended the station on 7 November 2011 after it aired comments by opposition candidate EtienneTshisekedi in which he encouraged his supporters to "break down the prison doors and free the opposition prisoners."
(JED/IFEX) – Kinshasa, 16 November 2011 – Radio Lisanga Télévision (RLTV), a Kinshasa-based, opposition radio station which had its broadcast signal suspended last week after it aired comments by opposition candidate Etienne Tshisekedi, is back on the air again.
The High Council for Broadcasting and Communications (CSAC) suspended the station on 7 November 2011 after it aired comments by Tshisekedi in which he proclaimed himself president and encouraged his supporters to “break down the prison doors and free the opposition prisoners.”
