What happened?
In October 2020, the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office indicted Nurcan Yalçın as part of an investigation into the Rosa Women’s Association.
The prosecutor cited Yalçın’s membership in the association and statements by anonymous witnesses as evidence of her alleged crimes.
An anonymous witness identified by the code “ZS35SN58UV52PG10” had told the Diyarbakır anti-terror police, “I know this person is a journalist and works for an agency that shares news about the [terrorist] organization in favor of the organization.”
