(JED/IFEX) – The “Vision” newspaper’s materials were returned on Monday 17 July 2000, in the late afternoon. The paper’s materials were seized by officers of the National Information Agency (Agence nationale de renseignements, ANR) during a search of the newspaper’s offices, on 11 July, in Kinshasa/Gombe.
Kinyongo Saleh, “Vision”‘s publisher, personally retrieved the newspaper’s computers, printers and archives at the ANR’s Kinshasa/Gombe office.
To prevent any further confiscations, “Vision”‘s managers moved the paper’s materials “to a safe place”, far from its editorial offices.
