(RSF/IFEX) – According to RSF, on 27 July 1998, in Dushanbe (the capital
city), Tajikistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs revoked accreditation from
Elena Massiuk, a reporter for the Russian television channel, NTV. The
journalist was declared undesirable in the country.
In the statement issued by the department in charge of media for the
Ministry, signed by Igor Satarov, Elena Massiuk is accused of having
disseminated reports aimed at “discrediting the government of the Republic
and its policies.”
